Boaz Typology

Definition

In Israelite law the go’el redeems family land sold (Lev 25:25), redeems a relative sold into slavery (Lev 25:47–49), and marries a deceased relative’s widow to raise up an heir (Deut 25:5–10). Boaz fulfills this role and is a type of Christ.
