Arianism
Definition
The heresy combated by Athanasius the Great, Basil the Great and Gregory of Nyssa; its arguments were refuted by Basil ‘Against Eunomius’ and by Athanasius’ Orations Against the Arians. Arians also existed as a party in the West (e.g., at the episcopal election in Milan in 374).
