Tribe Of Dan
Definition
The Northern Kingdom’s foundational apostasy under Jeroboam (golden calves at Bethel and Dan, counterfeit priesthood and feasts) prefigures the antichrist, the ‘lawless one’ who establishes a false universal religion opposed to Christ and His Church; the tradition draws on Genesis 49:17 and the cult center at Dan, and was developed by St. Hippolytus of Rome.
