Definition

The conviction that, being the only Orthodox power after 1453, Moscow Rus’ ‘has taken over the legacy of Rome, the Empire, the Orthodox Kingdom’ and is guardian of the true, Orthodoxy-based order of things — a status whose ‘considerable price’ was Lithuanian Rus.
