Comparative theology is a scholarly and educational theological discipline that studies the dogmatic, canonical, and other essential features of non- Orthodox confessions (Christian denominations that have, for various reasons, lost unity with Orthodoxy) in comparison with the doctrinal tradition and historical heritage of the Orthodox Church.
