Semi-Pelagianism

Definition

A softened form of Pelagianism holding that the Holy Spirit’s grace is necessary to establish a convert in faith and virtue but not necessary for remaining in faith, maintaining spiritual life, or recovering it after Baptism; some also denied its necessity for conversion. Condemned by Carthage canons 125-126.
