Definition
Greek for ‘of like essence/substance.’ A semi-Arian formula saying the Son is ‘like the Father’ or ‘like the Father in all things.’ Athanasius regarded those who accepted ‘like in all things’ as close to the Nicene faith, since ‘in all things’ would include essence.
